European Social Funding has been invested in a programme of support for young people in Dorset to get into work, education and training.
The Skills for Young People project which is open to participants aged 15-24 who are at risk of or, already, not in education, employment or training (NEET). The programme will focus on those who are at risk of social exclusion and young people from marginalised communities.
A typical learner journey for young people consists of:
- An Initial Assessment supported by individual learning plan
- A range of learning activity both accredited and non-accredited
- Progression into a range of outcomes sustainable outcomes: Employment, volunteering, traineeships, apprenticeships, education and in work progressions.
The programme is for individuals aged 16 – 24 who are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEETs) and legally resident in England and Wales. We will need to be able to confirm this with you before you start the course.
If you are claiming Universal Credit we can do this easily by submitting evidence from your UC account. We have put together 2 useful guides below to walk you through the bits we will need. If you aren’t sure what to do and have been confirmed as eligible over the phone still turn up to the course but remember to bring your UC login details and your tutor will help you.
