Skills Support for the Unemployed
Skills Support for the Unemployed (SSU) is delivered by Tempus Training on behalf of TWIN Training which is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and managed by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).
The Skills Support for the Unemployed programme is an ESF initiative aimed to upskill and fast track you towards a positive progression into employment or further training.
If you are considered to be unemployed (any length of unemployment), inactive in the labour market, aged 16 and above and reside within the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership area then you are eligible to be supported through the SSU programme.
Our provision focuses on creating pathways to employment within a range of industries, including construction, where the LEP area has seen strong growth and a shortage of qualified workers.
We work in partnership with employers and referral partners within the LEP area delivering a variety of training programmes such as ‘Entry to Construction’ which provide unemployed individuals new skills to assist with their progression into employment or further education.
Our team can further support you to action plan, helping to build your confidence and find the most suitable progression route into either work, further education or an apprenticeship.
